TooTak creates an accessible and joyful language learning experience through multimodal interactions; starting with Persian (فارسی).
Every Persian (فارسی) speaker around the world can read and write Persian (فارسی) to connect with their cultural heritage.
Reading is one of the most basic ways for people to communicate with the world around them and is the basis for their progress in life, education and work. The Persian (فارسی) language, like many other languages, has its own complexities that makes learning how to read and understand it difficult particularly for children age 7-10.
In addition to using other educational methods, the process of teaching Persian (فارسی) in TooTak is based on the Art of Reading method. This method has been used in the last 12 years by local facilitators to teach how to read and write Persian (فارسی) to more than a thousand Iranian and Afghan children, youth and adults in Iran. The project team works directly with Mr. Sedaghati, the founder of this method, and the facilitators who have used this method in the field. The goal of this partnership is to develop an online platform that recreates an experience similar to these engaging and interactive workshops in a digital environment.
Anyone who is familiar with Persian (فارسی) language and has been exposed to it at home, school or through media will be able to use TooTak to expand their Persian (فارسی) vocabulary, learn to read the Persian (فارسی) alphabet, read single and multi syllable words and eventually read short stories and poems.
We are always looking for volunteers, designers, researchers, programmers and education experts.
If you are interested in working with us, we would love to hear from you!
